How to Made sushi Roll

Ingredients:

2 cups sushi rice

2 1/2 cups water

1/4 cup rice vinegar

2 tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon salt

Nori seaweed sheets

Assorted fillings (such as cucumber, avocado, crab sticks, smoked salmon, and tuna)

Soy sauce, pickled ginger, wasabi (for serving)






Instructions:

Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine the rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions.


While the rice is cooking, prepare the sushi vinegar. In a small saucepan, combine the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat over low heat until the sugar and salt dissolve. Remove from heat and let it cool.


Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl. Gradually add the sushi vinegar to the rice, gently folding it in using a spatula. Be careful not to smash the rice grains. Continue folding until the rice is evenly coated with the vinegar mixture. Let the seasoned rice cool to room temperature.


Prepare your fillings by slicing them into thin strips. Common fillings include cucumber, avocado, crab sticks, smoked salmon, and tuna.


Lay a sheet of nori shiny side down on a bamboo sushi rolling mat or a clean kitchen towel. Moisten your hands with water to prevent the rice from sticking, then spread a thin layer of rice evenly over the nori, leaving about a 1-inch border at the top edge.


Arrange your desired fillings horizontally along the bottom third of the rice-covered nori sheet.


Using the bamboo mat or towel, tightly roll up the sushi, starting from the bottom edge, and pressing gently as you roll to ensure a firm, compact roll. Seal the edge by moistening it lightly with water.


Use a sharp knife to slice the sushi roll into bite-sized pieces. Wipe the knife with a damp cloth between each cut to ensure clean slices.


Serve the sushi rolls with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi on the side.
